2023 ALABAMA ACADEMY OF GENERAL DENTISTRY PRESIDENT
Dr. Mike Robinson has been inducted as the 2023 ALAGD President. Mike has set lofty and worthy goals, primary among them being increasing our membership. He is also interested in finding a way to provide CE to areas of our state which do not at this time have regular CE meetings.

I’m an MAGD dentist! What does that mean for you and your family?
MAGD stands for Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Mastership takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Less than 2 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Masters. When you see a dentist with MAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. AGD Masters practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year — not every dentist does this.
To become an AGD Master, a dentist must:
- Complete over 1,100 credit hours of CE.
- Earn 400 of those 1,100 credits in hands-on courses.
- Pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.

R. Michael Robinson, DMD, MAGD
Dr. Michael Robinson has practiced general dentistry since 1983. A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, he is a member of the Alabama Dental Association where he serves on the Budget and Auditing Council, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry (Fellow and Master), for whom he is the Medicaid Dental Task Force Representative , and a Past President of the Mobile Area Dental Society. His father and grandfather were dentists in Hartford and Abbeville, Alabama

- We have installed a new Carestream CS8100 3D conebeam X-Ray unit which will allow us to take better x-rays using lower radiation and ever view them in 3D!
- We now use a Carestream Intraoral Scanner for most crown and bridge impressions so no more messy impressions in most cases
- We use the latest 2D and 3D software to view and diagnose the new images for better planning of your treatment
